A finish baked to last
Every frame is powder coated, not painted. After a careful multi-stage clean and pre-treatment, a fine architectural-grade powder is applied electrostatically, then cured in an oven at around 200°C. The powder melts and fuses into a single, seamless skin that is far tougher than conventional paint.
Origin frames use an ultra-durable polyester powder by Interpon, a world leader in architectural coatings. The result resists scratches, will not flake or peel, and is highly unlikely to fade, which is one reason many frames carry a guarantee of up to 20 years. It is low maintenance too: an occasional wipe with mild soapy water keeps it looking new.

Clean & pre-treat
The aluminium is taken through a multi-stage clean to strip grease and oxide, then chemically pre-treated so the powder bonds perfectly.

Electrostatic spray
A fine powder is given an electrostatic charge and sprayed on, so it wraps evenly around every edge and profile of the frame.

Cure at 200°C
The frame is baked at around 200°C. The powder melts and fuses into one continuous, hard-wearing skin.

Inspect & finish
Each frame is checked for an even, flawless coat before it moves on to fabrication.

Authentic woodgrain effects
From Origin, woodgrain-effect finishes such as oak, walnut and mahogany give a realistic timber grain over a maintenance-free aluminium frame. A made-to-order finish, so allow a little extra lead time.
Dual colour frames
There is no rule that says the inside and outside must match. With a dual-colour frame you can have a bold anthracite or black outside to suit the street, and a softer white or grey inside to work with your interior. Available from both Origin and Smart Systems.

Each manufacturer keeps its most popular shades moving for the shortest lead times. Any other RAL colour, textured, metallic, woodgrain or dual-colour finish is made to order, which adds time as the frame is specially coated and cured for you.
