Only what we need
We collect what's needed to fulfil your order and run the store well.
Marketing by consent
Analytics, remarketing and audiences only run if you allow them.
Never sold
We never sell your personal data, full stop.
In short: we collect only what we need to take and fulfil your order and run our store. We use analytics and advertising, including remarketing and audience building, but only with your consent, and you can change your mind at any time. We never sell your personal data.
1. Who we are
SmartaView Ltd ("SmartaView", "we", "us") is the data controller responsible for your personal information. We supply premium aluminium glazing online on a supply-only basis, and are registered in England & Wales (company number 16581949).
This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have. If anything is unclear, contact us using the details in section 13.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
Your name, email, phone number, billing and delivery address, order and configuration details, account login details, and anything you send us in messages or reviews.
Information we collect automatically
Device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, products viewed and added to basket, how you reached us, and similar usage data, via cookies (see section 5). Card details are handled by our payment providers and not stored by us.
Information from third parties
Order and payment confirmations from payment providers, delivery updates from couriers, and aggregated insights from platforms such as Google and Meta where you've consented to their cookies.
3. How & why we use it
We only use your information where the law allows. The table shows what we do and our lawful basis under UK GDPR.

|---|---|
| Take, process and deliver your order, and provide support | Contract |
| Manage your account and respond to enquiries | Contract / legitimate interests |
| Improve our store, fix problems and keep it secure | Legitimate interests |
| Analytics, advertising, remarketing and audience building | Consent |
| Send marketing emails (where you've opted in) | Consent |
| Meet legal, tax and accounting obligations | Legal obligation |
4. Marketing & advertising
We use modern marketing tools to reach the right people and show relevant products. Where these rely on cookies or similar technologies, we only use them after you give consent, and you can withdraw it any time.
Online advertising & remarketing: We may show our adverts across search, social and display, including products you viewed or added to basket, using services such as Google, Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, Microsoft, Pinterest, LinkedIn and programmatic partners.
Audiences & measurement: We build marketing audiences (including custom and similar audiences) and measure which adverts lead to visits and orders.
Email marketing: If you opt in, we send occasional updates and offers. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Profiling for relevance: We may group audiences by interests and behaviour to make adverts more relevant. We don't make decisions with legal effects about you by automated means alone.
You're in control: manage advertising cookies in our cookie settings, opt out of personalised Google ads via Google's Ad Settings, adjust Meta ad preferences in your account, and use Your Online Choices for many providers at once.
5. Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, to understand how our store is used, and for advertising. Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent. For the full list, their purpose and how to control them, see our Cookie policy.
6. Who we share it with
We share your information only where necessary, with:
- Manufacturers who make your made-to-order products
- Couriers and logistics partners who deliver your order
- Payment providers who process your payment securely
- Analytics and advertising providers (such as Google and Meta), where you've consented
- IT, hosting and email providers who help us run the business
- Professional advisers, and authorities where legally required
Everyone who handles your data on our behalf must protect it and use it only as instructed. We never sell your personal data.
7. International transfers
Some providers (for example analytics and advertising platforms) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, to keep your information protected to UK standards.
8. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed, then delete or anonymise it. Order and transaction records are kept as required by tax and accounting law (generally six years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. Cookie data is kept for the periods shown in our Cookie policy.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

- Rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete data
- Restriction — limit how we use it
- Portability — receive it in a portable form

10. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (SSL) connections at checkout and restricted access to personal data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take security seriously and review our measures regularly.
11. Children
Our store is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we'll remove it.
12. Changes
