Our commitment

Modern slavery & human trafficking statement

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our dealings, and to doing everything we reasonably can to make sure it has no place in our business or our supply chains.

Our duty

Why we publish this

As a growing business, SmartaView currently sits below the annual turnover threshold at which a statement is legally required under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We publish this statement voluntarily because we believe protecting people from exploitation is the right thing to do at any size, and we will continue to develop and formalise our approach as we grow.

Context

Our business and supply chain

Understanding how we operate is the first step to understanding where risk could exist, and how we manage it.

Who we are

SmartaView Ltd is a UK-based, supply-only retailer of premium aluminium glazing, sold online and delivered direct to our customers. We do not carry out installation. We are registered in England & Wales (company number 16581949).

How we source

Our products are made to order by established manufacturers in the United Kingdom, then delivered to our customers. Our supply chain principally involves these UK manufacturing partners, the carriers who deliver, and the service providers who help us run the business.

Raw materials

Aluminium and glass, where most upstream risk sits, so we favour reputable supply chains.

UK manufacturers

Established British makers who build your product to order, operating under UK law.

Delivery partners

Carriers who deliver your order direct to your kerbside.

Our customers

You, receiving a product made and delivered to a standard we stand behind.

Risk

How we see our risk

Sourcing from established manufacturers in the UK, where strong labour laws apply, places much of our direct supply chain at lower risk than longer international chains. We don't treat that as grounds for complacency. Risk can still exist further upstream, for example in the extraction and processing of raw materials, so we stay alert and expect high standards from our partners.

Our principles

What we stand for

  • We act ethically and with integrity in every relationship
  • We expect our suppliers to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015
  • We favour partners who share our values and respect workers' rights
  • We will act on any concern about exploitation that is raised with us

Our approach

The steps we take

Practical actions we take now, and are building on as we grow.

Choosing partners carefully

We work with established UK manufacturers operating under UK employment law.

Clear expectations

We expect suppliers to comply with the law and to uphold workers' rights.

Staying alert

We keep watch for warning signs and take any concern seriously.

Improving as we grow

We will strengthen our checks, policies and training as the business scales.

The steps above reflect our current commitments. We are formalising written policies and supplier checks appropriate to our size, and will report on progress in future statements.

Raising a concern

If you have any concern that modern slavery may be connected to our business or supply chain, please tell us. We take every report seriously and will act on it. You can reach us through our contact page.
